Jack is owned by Desert Haven Labradors in UT.  
 

Jack helped solidify a lesson I learned the hard way. He was scheduled for OFA hips and Elbows on July 30th and Bella was expected to go into heat late August. However, she came into heat earlier than anticipated and I chose to gamble on his results and move forward with the breeding. 

 
I knew his hips were good because he had Pennhip done. 

His pedigree was full of dogs with normal elbows and he had dozens of other related dogs with normal elbows.  Unfortunately his elbows came back grade one, showing less than 2mm arthritis in the joint.
 

It’s very possible, with the history of normal elbows in his line that his arthritis was environmental but it’s better to be safe than sorry so all their puppies were sold to pet homes and Desserts Haven Labradors very responsibly retired him as a breeder.
